Donna Dodson is Chief Cybersecurity Advisor for the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
She is also Executive Director of NIST’s National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NCCoE) and Associate Director Chief Cyber Security Advisor of the Information Technology Laboratory (ITL), one of the six labs at NIST.
Donna oversees ITL’s cyber security program to conduct research, development and outreach necessary to provide standards, guidelines, tools, metrics and practices to protect the information and communication infrastructure. Under her leadership, ITL collaborates with industry, academia and other government agencies.
She has led technical teams to produce standards, guidelines and tools in cryptography, key management, authentication and security testing.
Dodson has received two Department of Commerce Gold Medals and three NIST Bronze Medals. She’s been selected as a Fed 100 winner for innovations in cybersecurity, as one of the top 10 influential people in government IT in 2011, and as one of CyberScoop’s 2017 Top Women in Cybersecurity.
